    Abstract:

    Diabetes causes a lot of abnormalities in the retina including up-regulation of intercellular adhesion moleDiabetes causes a lot of abnormalities in the retina including up-regulation of intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1), and these changes suggest a role for inflammation in the development of diabetic retinopathy(DR). In this paper, we analyzed the important role of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 on the damage of vascular endothelial cells and the inflammatory response in DR briefly.cule-1(ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1), and these changes suggest a role for inflammation in the development of diabetic retinopathy(DR). In this paper, we analyzed the important role of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 on the damage of vascular endothelial cells and the inflammatory response in DR briefly.
