    Abstract:

    βB2-crystallin is the most abundant β-crystallins and mainly expresses in the lens. Its regular structure and water-soluble ingredient point to an important role for lens high refractive index and transparency. Also, βB2-crystallin has been reported to express in some extralenticular tissues such as retina, brain, and testis, and has a certain influence on the related function of these tissues.
