    Abstract:

AIM:To discuss the application effects of air bubbles in the glaucoma trabeculectomy·METHODS:Of 30 patients with glaucoma trabeculectomy surgery, sterile air bubbles were injected into the anterior chamber to maintain anterior chamber intraoperatively, and used to form anterior chamber before surgery finished.Intraoperative anterior chamber depth, status of hyphema and postoperative shallow anterior chamber incidence were observed and compared with the control group·RESULTS:All patients were able to complete the surgery under the condition of incomplete disappearance of anterior chamber.Hyphema did not involve the pupil area, and the incidence of postoperative shallow anterior chamber was lower·CONCLUSION:Using sterile air bubbles in glaucoma trabeculectomy is simple and easy, which reduces the incidence of intraoperative and postoperative complications and their hazards, and effectively improve the safety and success rate of the surgery.
