    Abstract:

    AIM:To investigate the pathogenesis,risk factors,clinical presentation and curative effect of latent suprachoroidal hemorrhage.METHODS:Vitrectomy combined with radial equatorial sclerotomy was performed in 4 patients with latent suprachoroidal hemorrhage from February 2008 to September 2010 and the therapeutic effect was observed.RESULTS:Suprachoroidal hemorrhage disappeared completely in all cases.Choroidal reattachment was acquired and visual function was improved in various degrees.CONCLUSION:Latent suprachoroidal hemorrhage is a seriously blinding oculopathy.Correct diagnosis,opportune operative timing and appropriate surgical methods are helpful to relieve or even cure this disease as well as to save the eye and visual function.Vitrectomy combined with radial equatorial sclerotomy is an effective treatment for latent suprachoroidal hemorrhage.
