    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To observe the efficacy and safety of manual small incision cataract surgery(MSICS)in patients from the Republic of the Sudan.METHODS:Three hundreds patients(320 eyes)underwent MSICS with intraocular lens(IOL)implantation after excision of lens nucleus through tunnel incision.RESULTS:At the first day after operation,the uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA)was≤0.1 in 16 eyes;0.2-0.5 in 256 eyes;>0.5 in 48 eyes.IOL implantation was performed in 304 eyes(95.0%).CONCLUSION:MSICS is worth being spread because of rapid postoperative recovery,less complication.
