    Abstract:

    AIM:To investigate the clinical efficacy of laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK)for myopia combined with medium and high astigmatism.METHODS:Sixty-two myopia patients 83 eyes combined with medium and high astigmatism(≥-2.00D) were treated with LASIK by the excimer laser treatment system of Wavelight company of Germany.Preoperative and postoperative tests included vision,dioptre,astigmatism and the axis of astigmatism.RESULTS:After 6 months’ follow-up,the results showed that vision was over 0.8 in 78% and 1.0 in 47% respectively.The postoperative uncorrected visual acuity better than preoperative best-corrected visual acurity was in 57 eyes(69%).64 eyes(77%) were within ±1.00D of astigmatism.The average residual astigmatism was-0.80D,and 37eyes(45%) residual astigmatism were within ±0.50D.CONCLUSION:The LASIK is an effective treatment for myopia combined with medium and high astigmatism,patients have a high level of satisfaction.
