    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To investigate the significance of small incision extracapsular cataract extraction(ECCE)and intraocular lens implantation for patients with cataract in the primary hospital.·METHODS:Totally 247 patients with hard nuclear cataract underwent ECCE and intraocular lens implantation surgery.·RESULTS:On postoperative day 1,7 and 14,patients with visual acuity above 0.5 accounted for 72.9%,89.9%,98.4%.·CONCLUSION:There are some advantages in this surgery,including small incision,quicker recovery,small astigmatism,ideal postoperative vision,short operation time,and affordable under inadequate facilities in the primary hospital.·
