    Abstract:

    ·AIM:To explore the long period effect of medicine joint operation treatment on idiopathic orbital inflammtory pseudotumor(IOIP).·METHODS:Eighty-eight cases 92 eyes admitted to our hospital from 1986 to 2006 were reviewed and analyzed,of which 68 cases 80 eyes were treated by medicine joint operation treatment,20 cases were treated by medicine.The follow-up ranged from one year to 14 years,with an average of 4.4 years.·RESULTS:In the 88 cases,50 cases were male,38 cases were female,right eye 51 cases,left eye 33 cases and double eyes 4 cases.The age ranged from 2.5 years to 80 years,with an average of 31.4 years old.The main clinical manifestation and physical sign included exophthalmos of 76 cases,front eye socket clearance touchable lumps of 64 cases,eyelid edema and eye socket pain of 34 cases,eye movement limitation and diplopia of 33 cases,extraocular muscles incrassation of 23 cases.The others were 27 cases of optic nerve thickening,fat pad edema,eye splice inscrassation and so on.There were 68 caeses cured by medicine,operation,and medicine joint treatment.The others were cured by pure medicine treatment.The cured cases were 43 through follow-up visit.The partly cured cases were 34.The relapse cases were 11.The effective rate was 88 percent.·CONCLUSION:The clinical manifestation of orbital inflammatory pseudotumor is solid massess.Its cure rate can be improved obviously through medicine,joint operation and comprehensive treatment.·
