    Abstract:

    AIM:To observe and discuss the contributory factors of ocular hypertension,the clinical signs for follow up and the development of it. METHODS:Thirty-two cases with ocular hypertension were observed for intraocular pressure,vision field,optic disk and fibre of optic nerve. These cases were followed up for 2 to 10 years (mean 5 years). RESULTS:During the term of follow-up ,the intraocular pressure of the 29 cases did not change,The intraocular pressure in 2 cases went down,1 case increased,the vision field of 5 cases changed.CONCLUSION:Many factors may contribute to ocular hypertension,the patients must be observed frequently,In case of suspected glaucoma changes,anti-glaucoma treatment should be actively pursued.
