Abstract:AIM:To observe the effect of panretinal photocoa-gulation(PRP) combined with hexuemingmu for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy(DR). METHODS:PRP and hexuemingmu tablet were used in treating 53 cases(100 eyes) who had been diagnosed with DR.The follow-up period was 3 months. The pre-and postoperative results of visual acuity(VA),vision field (VF),fundus photograh and fundus fluoresceine angiography(FFA) were compared.RESULTS:VA was improved in 65 eyes(65%),remained unchanged in 25 eyes(25%) and decreased in 10 eyes(10%); VF was improved in 51 eyes(51%),remained unchanged in 34 eyes(34%) and decreased in 15 eyes(15%); fundus photograh and FFA was improved in 80 eyes(80%),remained unchanged in 10 eyes(10%) and decreased in 10 eyes(10%). CONCLUSION:PRP combined with hexuemingmu tablet is an effective method for DR. It can keep disease process stable and improve VA in a short period.
