Observation on herpes simplex keratitis treated by combination of Chinese Traditional Medicine and Western Medicine

AIM:To investigate the clinical curative effect of TCM(traditional Chinese medicine)combined with WM(western medicine)treatment on herpes simplex keratitis(HSK).METHODS:A total of 62 cases(67eyes)of patients with HSK were treated by TCM combined with WM.RESULTS:Of the 62 cases(67 eyes),cure rate was 79%;total effective rate was 93%;invalid rate was 7%.CONCLUSION:TCM combined with WM treatment on HSK is an effective method,has important clinical value without obvious side effect.

Traditional Chinese medicine combined with laser for diabetic retinopathy

AIM:To study clinical outcomes of the traditional Chinese medicine combined with laser for diabetic retinopathy.METHODS:A total of 30 cases 36 eyes with retinopathy were randomly divided into observation group(traditional Chinese medicine combined with laser group)and control group(laser group).Observation group of 15 patients(17 eyes)and control group of 15 patients(19 eyes)were treated for 1-2 years.Before and after treatment,visual acuity and retinal lesions in all patients were observed,recorded and statistically analyzed.RESULTS:The improvement of visual acuity and fundus was better in observation group than the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Traditional Chinese medicine combined with laser for diabetic retinopathy is a feasible and effective way.

Observation of differentiation of syndrome on ischemic retinal vein occlusion after laser photocoagulation

·AIM:To observe the effect of differentiation of syndrome on early ischemic retinal vein occlusion after laser photocoagulation.METHODS:Totally 194 cases(214 eyes)with early ischemic retinal vein occlusion were randomly divided into control group,including 96 cases(102 eyes),and treatment group,including 98 cases(112 eyes).The control group was treated with Western medicine on the basis of retinal laser photocoagulation.The treatment group were differentiated into the syndromes of liver yang hyperactivity,qi stagnation and blood stasis,deficient spleen and weak qi,liver depression and bleeding due to blood-heat,then they were respectively given to differentiation of syndrome after laser treatment.RESULTS:In treatment group,34 eyes were recovered,68 eyes improved,10 eyes invalid,and the total effective rate was 91.1%.In control group,8 eyes were recovered,68 eyes improved,26 eyes invalid,and the total effective rate was 74.5%.The difference of clinical effect between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:It is satisfactory to treat early ischemic retinal vein occlusion after laser photocoagulation therapy with differentiation of syndrome.

Clinical evaluation of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of diabetic retinopathy during the whole range

AIM:To evaluate the clinical effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in treatment of diabetic retinopathy.METHODS:The clinical effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of diabetic retinopathy was analyzed retrospectively during the whole range and made statistical analysis.RESULTS:Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment could effectively delay and reversal the happening and development of diabetic retinopathy at the beginning,ease retinopathy damage caused by laser,encourage macular edema recovery in the metaphase and retinopathy function recovery around the final stage.CONCLUSION:Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment may delay the happening and development of diabetic retinopathy during the whole range,improve patient’s visual function.
